Snag's Archean Skater Dress follows that shape with princess seams through the bust, a defined waist and a skirt cut to swish rather than cling. It sits on or just above the knee.

Does a skater dress work for different body shapes?

The waist seam and flared skirt do most of the work, since the fit is defined at the waist before the skirt has room to move, rather than relying on one straight cut all the way down. Snag's Archean Skater Dress comes in sizes 4 to 38, with every size cut to its own pattern rather than one design scaled up or down.
