OOOOOOO, spooky Fair Isle! All the gorgeous detail and cozy warmth of a traditional Fair Isle knit, only ours has a haunted castle, ghosts, bats, gravestones, spider webs and skulls lurking amongst the stitches.
Knitted in cream and black against a deep charcoal background, traditional Fair Isle-inspired motifs mingle with our fabulously gothic castle scene around the yoke and cuffs.
It's old-school knitting with a wonderfully spooky Snag imagination, made in a super-soft, hardwearing wool blend that you can actually chuck in the washing machine.
Fair Isle knitting originated on the tiny, remote Scottish island that gave the technique its name, creating detailed patterns by working with different colors and carrying the unused strands behind the design.
Those floating strands create an extra layer of yarn inside the sweater, trapping warm air and making this clever knitting technique particularly cozy.
With a close-fitting shape, crew neck and ribbed hem, neckline and cuffs, you get all the warmth, texture and detailed colorwork of a traditional Fair Isle sweater, without the handwashing, reshaping and general preciousness.
